!±8± How Can I Stop My Eczema From Itching - An Absolute Must Know

You may not be suffering from eczema but there are some individuals around the world who are dealing with this skin condition. The itching is no laughing matter and because of this, one may lose precious sleeping hours over this. Scratching only worsens the condition and you can also introduce bacteria through your nails. Thus, you must know ways on how to stop yourself from scratching.

Prevention is better than a cure. To prevent the onset of eczema, it is essential to keep your skin hydrated, avoid potential environmental hazards like detergents and chemicals, avoid foods that trigger eczema, and most especially, avoid stress and stressful situations. Use mild skin products and regularly use an emollient. If you do these things, you can prevent the unsightly skin, the incessant itching and burning, and flare-ups.

Emollients keep the skin moist. Such products include creams, lotions, oils, and ointments. A beneficial emollient is emu oil, which is helpful in keeping the skin moist. Emu oil also has anti-itch and anti-inflammatory property as well. Emu oil also has antibacterial properties. One way to stop the itching is to slather emu oil on the affected areas. During the winter months, the skin becomes dry; thus use a cream to hydrate your skin. During the summer, an emollient or lotion will do the trick. Additives like alcohol or scents may diminish the potency of the moisturizer.

To reduce itching, some eczema sufferers bathe in colloidal oatmeal. While Aveeno is a popular brand, you can make your own oatmeal bath mix by using rolled oats. After bathing, apply lotion that is part colloidal oatmeal and part cocoa butter in addition to shea butter. Good hygiene is one way to stop the itching in eczema. Trim your nails. This way, if you scratch your skin, not a lot of damage will be done. If scratching cuts open the skin, make sure that you clean the wound, slather antibiotic cream. Cover it up until the healing process starts.

A healthy diet indirectly relieves the incessant itching. One is recommended to deal with the problem from the inside. Diet can be used to promote the development and growth of healthy skin. Supplements like emu oil or Omega 3 have fatty acids that are necessary for healthy skin. However, it takes a while before you see any benefits derived from the right diet.

Another way to stop or control itching is by stress management. When you are under stress, the itching intensifies. Have massage sessions, do yoga, go on breaks and holidays, all for the sole purpose of stopping the nasty itching.

Rashes From Chlorine And Other Skin Problems From Pools

!±8± Rashes From Chlorine And Other Skin Problems From Pools

Public swimming pools contain a high concentration of chlorine to kill bacteria, and your own pool, hot tub or whirlpool also require a way to kill bacteria. A rash from chlorine is a type of chemical dermatitis. If you develop an itchy rash all over your body that looks like chicken pox chances are this is not a chlorine rash, but a skin infection caused by pseudomonas aeruginosa. This bacterium is prevalent in hot tubs, spas, and whirlpools that have not been drained and cleaned properly. Pseudomonas aeruginosa can also cause eye, ear, nose, throat and urinary tract infections. It is important to know what the true source is of your rash and because it may not develop immediately, it can be confusing since during the summer we also encounter bugs, plants that we react to and foods that may create allergic responses.

If you develop a rash from chlorine contact, unfortunately the best way to treat it is to stop swimming as frequently, although you may be able to find a lotion that you can put on before swimming that will act as a barrier between your skin and the irritating chlorine. This is a wise idea if you already suffer from any kind of eczema or extremely dry skin.

If you swim for competitive reasons and train frequently, consider using a full body suit, and a swimming cap. The suit will offer a barrier between the chlorine and your skin, leaving only your hands and feet exposed, which can easily be treated with a lotion before you swim. Goggles will help with any irritation to the eyes.

Over the counter corticosteroid creams will often relieve the problem, especially if the rash only occurs in a small area of the skin. The use of a cool compress may also help and/or bathing in water in which baking soda has been added. Aveeno, calamine lotion and other anti-itch lotions may also help.

Rash from chlorine should disappear after a week to ten days, unless the rash becomes infected, which usually happens if you scratch, then it would be advisable to seek medical attention.

It is important that the pool's chemical levels are kept at optimum levels, as too much chlorine can also lead to red, sore and irritated eyes. Showering immediately after swimming is always essential to wash off any chlorine residue. For pool owners who have kids who invite their friends over to swim, add an outside shower and encourage the visitors to use an antibacterial soap before and after swimming.

How to Stop Sweating and Be Confident

!±8± How to Stop Sweating and Be Confident

I never thought the answer to excessive sweating could be so cheap and easy.

I used to sweat a lot. I never wore tight shirts. Whenever I dared to wear tight shirts, I'd be so mortified by the sweat stains that the shirt would never leave my closet again.

I tried numerous antiperspirants: roll-ons, solids. I even tried Mitchum, which "contains the maximum amount of active ingredient." It didn't work.

I wore huge T-shirts to avoid getting sweat stains. Even though no one else could see it, I still felt the dampness under my arms. It destroyed my confidence.

Turns out, there are no fancy tricks. There's no magical secret. Certain Dri Antiperspirant works.

At first, I used Certain Dri Antiperspirant every night. I was amazed: my underarms stayed dry all day. I didn't think there was any way it could actually last 72 hours, so it was probably a couple months before I tried applying Certain Dri Antiperspirant every other night.

It turns out, it really does last 72 hours! I apply it every third night, and for all three days I'm still totally dry.

Certain Dri Antiperspirant keeps me dry, but it's not a deodorant. I still apply a deodorant every morning. It's nice, because I can choose whatever I want: I don't have to worry about its strength.

By only applying Certain Dri Antiperspirant every third night and waxing my underarms, there's no irritation. It may itch a little, but I found a very easy way to take care of it...

Aveeno Overnight Itch Relief Cream works wonders.

I apply Certain Dri Antiperspirant. When my skin is totally dry, I take a dab of Aveeno Overnight Itch Relief Cream and massage it into my skin.

Massage with your fingertips or palm. It feels great and the relief lasts all night.

Don't use hair-removal cream on skin where you apply Certain Dri Antiperspirant. This includes Veet, Nair, and any other depilatory cream. I recommend waxing your underarms while using Certain Dri Antiperspirant, but you can shave if you prefer.

Also avoid getting alpha hydroxy acid cream or beta hydroxy acid cream on skin where you apply Certain Dri Antiperspirant. I accidentally got a little too close to my underarms with my glycolic acid lotion, and boy did it sting!

You can physically exfoliate with a scrub or loofah (I scrub my underarms quite vigorously at times and have no problems at all), just don't use a chemical exfoliator on your underarms.

For those of us who have tried every extra-strength antiperspirant/deodorant on the market to no avail, Certain Dri Antiperspirant is a godsend.

I know I give a lot of advice, but I just want you to be able to learn from my experience. It took me a while to find the best routine. Hopefully, with my recommendations, you'll find your best routine quicker.

Switching from shaving to waxing, using Aveeno Overnight Itch Relief Cream, and applying Certain Dri Antiperspirant every three nights gives me the best results.

I love being able to wear tight shirts. I don't have to worry about how hot or humid it is. I don't have to check every few minutes to see how visible the sweat stains are. And I don't ruin my white shirts with icky, yellow stains.

There's nothing like getting your confidence back.
